In partnership with CELT, Iowa State Online is leading the charge to align academic innovation with industry needs and the university’s strategic priorities by launching three cutting-edge programs designed to address workforce demands.

The Master of Digital Health launched in the Fall of 2024. This initiative exemplifies our dedication to addressing evolving industry demands. CELT’s instructional design and media production teams are developing 11 engaging online courses specifically designed for professionals in this growing field. Four courses are completed, and the remaining seven are still in development. To effectively promote the program, Iowa State Online’s team created a robust suite of promotional resources—including a website landing page, email campaigns, social media outreach, and print materials. Additionally, informational webinars and enrollment assistance were provided for a seamless experience for prospective students.

The Cybersecurity Undergraduate Certificate will address critical skills gaps in the IT industry. This 21-credit program is specifically designed for working professionals with associate degrees. Courses are 6 weeks in length. Iowa State Online is strategically supporting the launch with targeted marketing efforts and exploring micro-credentialing options to expand its impact further.

Looking ahead, the Master of Applied Statistics, slated for launch in Fall 2025, will blend innovation with expertise to meet advanced data analytics demands. The program includes adapting seven in-person courses and creating three new ones, with faculty leveraging a mobile recording studio to prepare engaging, high-quality course content. Iowa State Online is developing a robust marketing plan and dedicated student support resources to ensure the program’s success.

These initiatives reflect Iowa State’s mission as a land-grant university to empower learners by extending access to education for those who may be geographically bound or unable to come to campus. They also showcase the university’s strategic alignment with workforce needs, fostering growth and resilience in an ever-changing professional landscape.
