Teaching Conversations Community of Practice

August 26 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

CELT’s communities of practice are topic-based cross-disciplinary groups of faculty who meet to discuss topics related to teaching and learning. Communities of Practice are designed to provide a space for meaningful conversations about teaching and learning with the facilitation of CELT staff (some communities also have faculty co-facilitators).

The Teaching Conversations Community of Practice is open to any faculty or staff member with a teaching role at Iowa State University. The purpose of this community is to:

·       Support instructors in their continued growth as teachers.
·       Build connections across disciplines.
·       Share strategies for effective teaching and learning.

Sessions will usually start with a brief conversation centered on a topic related to teaching (no required pre-reading). The remainder of the session will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss their teaching, brainstorm ideas, and share feedback.

Focus: Establishing Rapport and Beginning the Semester

Email Krista Klocke, CELT Instructor Development Coordinator, with interest or questions.
