Turning Your Teaching into Research
October 30 @ 10:00 am - 11:20 am
FreeAlmost half of all ISU faculty engage in SoTL research, you should, too!
Become part of the SoTL community of scholars at ISU.
The SoTL Scholars program brings faculty of all ranks, all disciplines, and any level of SoTL knowledge together to better understand teaching and learning through research and collaboration. The SoTL Scholars program is a community of faculty and a series of events that guide participants through the major components of SoTL research and provides resources along the way. You are encouraged to attend all six sessions offered throughout the year or to pick-and-choose as you wish.
Turning Your Teaching into Research
This session moves from your teaching question or quandary toward a SoTL research design. We will begin with reflections on teaching and then cover varying approaches to SoTL research to turn your ideas into researchable questions. This session will also reference topics covered in the upcoming session, such as methods, assessments, and data types that you can use to engage in SoTL research.
Featured Presenter: Hans Klein-Hewitt, Assistant Professor, Landscape Architecture, College of Design
