The purpose of the ISU-OLC is to share campus best practices to improve online teaching and learning and connect with others across campus.
We will focus on building effective communication through dialogue and our experiences, discussing how to empower students when building ground rules (class norms), and exploring strategies for facilitating conversations, including the O.T.F.D. (Open The Front Door) and A.C.T.I.O.N. communication frameworks.
This interactive workshop will help guide you through the core areas (objectives, methods, evaluation) of writing or revising your teaching philosophy statement. The facilitator is Karen Menzel, Program Specialist III.
Explore ways to create a welcoming learning environment (no matter the course modality), brainstorm what we can do to build an inclusive environment, share campus resources and programs, and extend your learning about teaching inclusively.
