Unlock the potential of your visual content by creating alternative descriptions, or alt text, that are both concise and meaningful. This workshop covers resources and strategies for making images accessible for all learners. Through polling, scenario-based exercises, and discussions, we’ll determine when an image needs a description, practice writing simple alt text, and tackle how to describe complex images.
Workshop Goals:
1. Assess the context of an image to determine its informative value.
2. Identify tools and techniques for describing complex images and visual data.
3. Participate in scenario-based exercises through chat and polling.
If you need a reasonable accommodation, you may find more information on the University Human Resources Disability Accommodation page. For graduate student assistants and undergraduate students, please get in touch with Student Accessibility Services.
