Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL): Benefits & Beginnings
October 8 @ 2:30 pm - 3:50 pm
FreeAlmost half of all ISU faculty engage in SoTL research, you should, too!
Become part of the SoTL community of scholars at ISU.
The SoTL Scholars program brings faculty of all ranks, all disciplines, and any level of SoTL knowledge together to better understand teaching and learning through research and collaboration. The SoTL Scholars program is a community of faculty and a series of events that guide participants through the major components of SoTL research and provides resources along the way. You are encouraged to attend all six sessions offered throughout the year or to pick-and-choose as you wish.
SoTL: Benefits & Beginnings
Let’s start at the very beginning. What is SoTL? Who benefits with SoTL research, and what are those benefits? This session provides the foundational knowledge necessary for you to embark on a SoTL journey and how it differs from scholarly teaching and disciplinary research. We will also discuss SoTL’s significance at Iowa State.
Featured Presenter: Sara Marcketti, Assistant Provost & CELT Executive Director, Morrill Professor of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management
