The CELT Teaching Excellence Award in the Scholarship of Teaching of Learning (SoTL) is presented annually to recognize and celebrate one to three ISU faculty, staff, or administrators. Nominees for the CELT Excellence in SoTL Award should demonstrate excellence in these areas (the review committee will place emphasis on SoTL research conducted in the last five (5) years):

  • A record of dissemination of scholarly work that has advanced SoTL within the nominee’s disciplinary field or SoTL as a field, with evidence of significance and impact.
  • Ongoing engagement and professional development regarding teaching and learning that reflects sustained dedication to the SoTL field (service, mentorship, advocacy, etc.) at Iowa State University and/or within respective disciplinary fields.

Nominations from colleagues, department chairs/supervisors, and self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.

Successful awardees will receive a $1,500 one-time, professional development funding award.
