Well-Being Community of Practice

The Well-Being Community of Practice is for instructors interested in embedding well-being into ISU environments, practices, and culture. The purpose of this community is to:
- Enhance faculty and staff knowledge, skills, and competencies in well-being and student success.
- Build institutional capacity to learn and apply practices to transform environments, practices, and culture toward well-being Support instructors who are teaching large enrollment courses.
- Creation of knowledge for embedding well-being in learning environments, practices, and culture.
Very Mindful, Very Well: Incorporating Mindfulness and Well-being into Faculty Teaching Pedagogy
This presentation explores strategies for integrating mindfulness and well-being practices into faculty teaching pedagogy to foster a supportive and holistic learning environment. We will examine mindfulness’s benefits for educators and students and discuss practical techniques for embedding well-being into the curriculum. Additionally, this presentation addresses how these approaches can enhance student engagement, reduce stress, and promote academic success. Whether new to mindfulness or looking to deepen its role in your teaching, this session provides tactics for creating a more intentional and compassionate classroom experience.
